This two-day professional development opportunity will begin your journey of learning Motivational Interviewing (MI). You will experientially explore:

  • When and how to apply MI techniques in your role with those you serve
  • MI communication skills and strategies for guiding those you serve toward positive and healthy behavior change
  • MI’s philosophy
  • Simple tools for on-going learning
  • Alignments with Cultural Reverence and Trauma Informed Awareness, Healing & Wellness

This workshop is appropriate for all human service professionals and leaders. The event is led by Shawn Smith, Co-Founder and President of the Alma Institute. Shawn has trained MI to thousands of professionals including those serving in workforce development, criminal justice, health care, behavioral health, education, and youth services.

This training is provided for Brighter Futures Title V Grantees and Stay Strong MKE team members only with the generous support of Community Advocates.
